About Us

Nestled on the edge of the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds, Breckenholme Trading Company is a proud family run business with over a decade of experience producing award-winning rapeseed oil products. Since 2008, we've been growing, pressing, and bottling premium oils under our own brands, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and Charlie & Ivy’s. Alongside our own lines, we also provide bulk order services, export contracts, and white label manufacturing. We collaborate closely with our sister company, The Honest Bean Co., an emerging British fava bean brand.

Our factory is located on our working farm in Thixendale, within easy reach of Pocklington, Malton, Driffield, and York. We’re a small, passionate, and inclusive team, and we’re currently looking for a motivated team members to join us.



Accounts Assistant - Part Time 3 days a week

Location: Thixendale, North Yorkshire (no public transport available)

Role Overview

Join us as an Accounts Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounts Manager and driving the efficiency of the department. This position is perfect for a meticulous, organised professional who thrives under pressure and enjoys the pace of a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Weekly invoicing

Process delivery charges accurately

Allocate credits correctly, included returned items

Chase outstanding payments via email and phone

Send statements and follow up on overdue accounts

Organise accounts to enable automated statements

Input non-automated online orders daily

Reconcile online transactions with the bank

Respond to email queries for customer accounts and main sales ledgers

Match customer payments with remittances

Update show sheets using stock control software, and reconcile payments in Xero

Keep stock records accurate and up to date

Work with sales and dispatch teams on account updates and credits

Banking, deposit cash and exchanging change

What We’re Looking For

A solid background in managing accounts or similar financial tasks

Skilled in using tools like Excel, Word, and Outlook efficiently

Experience with Xero accounting software would be advantageous

Able to manage tasks with precision and maintain accuracy

Consistently thorough and dependable in all aspects of work

Capable of clear and professional communication, both written and verbal

Enjoys following and improving workflows for better efficiency

Confident and approachable when communicating over the phone

Thrives in collaborative environments and contributes positively to group goals

Must be able to commute to our Thixendale location (no public transport available)

Livestock & Maintenance

Location: Driffield, East & North Yorkshire

Six Valley Lamb is a dynamic, family run agricultural business specialising in an extensive EasyCare sheep farming system across East and North Yorkshire. Alongside our thriving sheep enterprise, we are also running a small Wagyu beef growing operation which has potential to grow. We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued success of operations, while being part of a forward-thinking, sustainable farming business focused on quality and long-term growth.

The Role

At Six Valley Lamb, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance of property, grazing pastures and equipment, and support the head shepherd in running our sheep enterprise. You will also get involved in overseeing the Wagyu Growing Cattle and weekly routine bedding of B&B pigs.

Key Responsibilities

Livestock Management: 60%

Sheep farming duties, including:

Daily health checks

Routine treatments (worming, weighing, bolusing, tagging, vaccinating)

Outdoor lambing

Livestock movements using a twin-deck 4x4 Indespension trailer and a 32ft tractordrawn trailer

Cattle / Pig farming duties

Routine checks and treatments as required

Feeding and bedding

Land, Equipment & Pasture Management: 40%

Fence installation and repair (electric and fixed)

Manage pastures through topping and spraying (using a quad bike/UTV)

General upkeep and tidiness of farmyard and facilities

Equipment and vehicles maintenance

Other - Six Valley Lamb is sister business to two farming operations covering a small arable area and specialist horse hay enterprise and B&B pigs. In times of peak workloads there is collaboration across the farm teams.

What We’re Looking For

Person Specification:

Able to work independently with initiative, as well as collaboratively within in a small team

Trustworthy and dependable, representing Six Valley Lamb across 15+ farms in Yorkshire

Full UK driving licence

Skills required:

Livestock Husbandry

Tractor and telescopic handler and quad bike driving experience

Experience with working dogs (desirable but not essential)

Practical aptitude with experience of property and equipment repairs and maintenance

Working Hours & Expectations
